BVHG Mission Statement
When our team sat down for our very first planning meeting, we all asked ourselves a pretty simple question: "Why are we doing this?"
At its core, it’s because we love these games and we love playing them with high-quality terrain, with lovingly painted miniatures, and a great friend or group of friends across the table from us. This is the experience we cultivate at our own tables and one we wanted to share with other tabletop gamers. To that end, we decided to found Brazos Valley Hobby & Games with the primary goal of sharing in and passing on our love for these hobbies and the communities that play them.
We’ve set out to create a fun and welcoming community for all hobbyists and gaming enthusiasts from all walks of life. We want to ensure that Brazos Valley Hobby & Games is a space where veterans of the hobby and complete beginners alike can share in one another’s fellowship, camaraderie, and forge lasting friendships and good-spirited rivalries.
Moreover, we’ve set out to establish a constructive and supportive environment for anyone to grow as a hobbyist as well as a gamer. Through the Rattler Academy of Miniature Painting and Workshop Wednesday, we hope to help all those who want to learn more about the miniature painting hobby improve their results, paint more miniatures, and develop confidence in their abilities as an artist. Brazos Valley Hobby & Games can be as much of a space to grow as an artist as it is a space to play games.
Most importantly, though, we want to support and develop the tabletop gaming hobby in our local community, both amongst existing tabletop gamers and the general public. These games have the powerful ability to bring all sorts of people together to share in a common activity. We’re doing this because we believe that such a space matters and has value to our community, both here in Bryan-College Station and Texas at large (not to mention the wider Imperium of Man!) – thanks for coming on this journey with us, and remember, just roll sixes!
